SHEDDING OUR SPIRITUAL POUNDS
Every year ladies, we want to look back over our year and make promises to do better by eating right, exercising right and becoming healthier. Wow, we begin the new year with great expectations. I think that’s great because a healthy body means a healthier life. I even plan to do that myself.
As I began to think of the importance of making my outside features look better, God begun to speak to me and say, “But what about the inside? “ Do you need to shed some spiritual pounds off as well? Wow, I got to thinking – Lord, that’s wonderful. I want to be committed to do this as well.
Are there things in our spiritual lives that need shedding? Could it be shedding hatred and gaining more love? Could it be shedding sowing discord and gaining harmony. Could it be shedding lying and gaining truth? What about shedding pride and a proud look to gain meekness? Could it be hands that shed innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17) and gain fairness and faithful? Or could it be backbiting, running toward mischief or lack of commitment and gain determination and loyalty?
If we focus on shedding these spiritual pounds while we are shedding our natural pounds, our body and our soul will be healthier. Just think how “good “ we will look in 2019.
May God bless you and keep you daily. Now, remember to check in with me to see how well we both are doing.
